How do you teach mathematics to young children? Most young children do not have the attention span or powers of concentration to get much out of formal instruction in mathematics. Children's attention is attracted by music, colour and movement. On this DVD I have made series of fun, short songs and animated videos that will appeal to young children, much as any cartoons do. Incorporated within these are mathematical concepts which children can acquire in the course of repeatedly watching, listening, singing, and responding verbally to prompts - without realising they are learning anything at all. As a result, even young children can become familiar with relatively advanced mathematical concepts at an early age. Want your child to be several steps ahead of the mathematical crowd before they start school? Give them Prof Pete's Musical Math DVD.
Click on the buy-now button above to purchase this DVD - all videos are high quality mpeg2 format (unlike the small number of low quality samples below) - for US$10 (includes postage and packaging via airmail to any international destination).
Younger children may also benefit from my Best of Penguin TV DVD and CD, which has a math component dealing with numbers, counting, shapes and symmetry, and my Jumping Jellybeans TV DVD, which also has a math component included for younger children.
